Beautiful Singapore

Welcome to Singapore.  We had a beautiful flight from Adelaide, all my worrying as usual for no good reason!  Thumbs up to Singapore Airlines for great service, keeping us well hydrated, fed and comfortable along the way.

We got here at about 5 o'clock,( Singapore is 1 1/2 hrs behind Adelaide) and it took longer for us to check into the Hotel than to get through customs etc, all very efficient.  It was 30 deg and the humidity really hit us when we walked out of the airport. As we drove from the airport, what struck me most was the well maintained gardens along the roads and the mix of architectural styles of buildings etc which we hope to explore a bit more tomorrow. This is the view from the Park Hotel, Clarke Quay where we are staying.

We have just gone for a walk around Clarke Quay and found a nice place for dinner. We both chose a marinated beef tenderloin in lemongrass and chilli, served with steamed rice, and now are sitting with coffee, at Dulcet and Studio taking advantage of their free wifi.

See below photos for us enjoying our first Singapore Sling, it could be due to these that I am unable to remember exactly what goes into one of those. I may have to follow up on that.  I have also included a shot of the Singapore River in front of where we ate.

About to pack up and wander back to the Hotel to get ready for a big day tomorrow.
