In Dublin's fair city where girls are so pretty

This morning we left Limerick.  This is us on the bridge over the River Shannon.

On the way out of Limerick we stopped and had a look at King John's Castle.  This photo is not very clear, but you can vaguely make it out on the left hand side.

Next we headed out to Bunratty Castle, an amazing place where the original castle still stands, built in Norman times again.

The rest of the little village there, has been recreated , while the church was relocated brick by brick. You can walk into the cottages and experience a peat fire burning, quite a pungent smell.  They have different cottages in which different classes of people would have lived from well to do, to simple working class.  There was also an example of a Byre where animals lived in the cottage with the family.

This is the walled garden.

Next stop was Galway, which was a lunch stop.  The tour director recommended McDonoughs which does smoked cod in batter with chips.  I accidentally ordered a baked cod, came out with a crumbed topping in a creamy sauce, mildly curried with broccoli florets through it, a delicious mistake.

From Galway, it was a two hour trip to Dublin. Dublin has a population of 1 million people which by Irish standards is huge.  We are staying in O'Connell Street.
