Cead mile failte

This means a "hundred thousand welcomes "in Irish Gaelic.

We visited Cardiff Castle today.  This is an ancient castle which a man called William Burgess got his hands on, and redecorated and designed to his taste in the 1930's. inspired by medieval times but not authentic.

and this.....

The stained glass windows were stunning.  At the same site was a Norman built keep c.1070

Inside that keep was....

and around the keep was the ....

moat of course.   After we had looked around the Castle, we nipped across the road into the main shopping mall of Cardiff, where we had our first encounter with mailing a postcard.

After Cardiff we headed to Pembroke to catch the ferry.  I was deliberating whether to hit the Kwells or not, but there was no need to worry. The ferry was massive and luckily for me, the sea across St Georges's Channel was smooth, so no need for a bucket.  I could have had some lunch after all!

We reached land at Wexford after a trip lasting approximately 4 hours and were quickly off the ferry and then had about one hours drive to where we stayed at Waterford, the home of pretty bits and pieces!  We had a quick dinner at the hotel and then Paul sampled one or two guiness!
